Our Vision
Leaders in Childhood Education
Heretaunga Kindergartens is an Incorporated Society. As such we are legally required to have a Constitution which is the governing regulations of our organisation. You can download a copy of our Constitution here.
100% qualified and registered teachers
We employ only 100% qualified and registered early childhood teachers and our ratio is one teacher to 10 children (2 – 5 years old). All our teachers have their first-aid certificate.
Each of our kindergarten’s have a Head Teacher and Teachers who deliver teaching and learning that reflect the principles and strands framework of Te Whāriki.
Free early childhood education
Tamariki aged from 3 – 5 years old are eligible for 20 hours of free early childhood education. This means that if your child is 3, 4 or 5 years old and attends one of our kindergarten’s, the cost can be fully subsidised for up to six hours a day and up to 20 hours a week. By bringing your child to one of our kindergartens for 20 hours a week, you will be eligible for a total of 30 hours per week – Free!
Tamariki under the age of three are also free at any of our kindergarten’s if you intend to use your 20 hours entitlement once your child turns three.

What makes us different
Enviroschools is an environmental action based programme tamariki are empowered to design and lead sustainability projects.
We use Storypark as a simple and user-friendly platform to share children's learning and stories with parents and whānau.
NZK: We are part of New Zealand Kindergartens (NZK) which is the national voice of Kindergarten.
Our
Code
The Code of Professional Responsibility (for the teaching profession) reflects the expectations of conduct and integrity that we all share, what we expect from each other and what our learners, their families and whānau, their communities and the public can expect of us (Education Council, 2017, p.6).
Our Standards
The Standards for the Teaching Profession are made up of six standards that provide holistic descriptions of what high-quality teaching practice looks like and what it means to be a teacher in Aotearoa New Zealand. The additional detail contained in the elaborations provides depth and context to the Standards themselves and supports teachers to identify and develop high-quality practices in their settings (Education Council, 2017, p.14).
